Today I celebrate the last of my kitchen renovation payments. There are a finishing touches to be made (lighting, pantry cabinet doors, backsplash) but the general idea for the kitchen makeover is all done. I love this new kitchen. It has brown walls that I thought I would get tired of eventually but it's been close to 10 months and I still think the brown makes the room cozy and sophisticated. It provides a setting only made even better with the meditative qualities of making cafe sua da, Vietnamese ice coffee, slow brewed and sweetened with condensed milk. My neighbor Denise made that mosaic disk that is sitting on top of the table. It's on loan, but don't remind her that....
