Ah Vietnam!

hi!

Did I tell you I went to Vietnam? I did. Sort of on a whim which is the best kind of travel. Vietnam is an unlikely destination for me. I never would have even thought of going but now having seen it, I couldn't imagine not ever having gone. I'm working on pictures of which there are far too many (14GB), but here is one that I know in my bones will be a favorite.



We were in a tiny village, no more than a dozen houses, getting our flat tire fixed. I think she was summoned to witness the commotion of strangers visiting their tiny enclave with cameras to entertain. She inched slowly out of this house, curious but uncertain. It took some doing but I finally got her to smile.

Well, sort of.
